McShane from Kildare

McShane from Kildare

I have no problem finding the lyrics for this great song, sung by the Furey`s on the Spanish Cloak album. Does anyone know where I can get the guitar chords for this song?? I have googled with no joy. Thx.

Re: McShane from Kildare

Hi squelly - Are you able to post the abc's of the melody into this discussion thread? If so, I would be happy to post the guitar chords (also into this thread).

Re: McShane from Kildare

I know the song and don't need the abc. What key do you want it in? Just send me one verse plus chorus, I'll write the chords down. There's just three I guess.

Re: McShane from Kildare

squelly - as far as know, there's no software around that would generate chords from a CD recording.

However, kuec knows the tune (and I don't), so your best bet would be to take up that particular offer.

Re: McShane from Kildare

Keuc, I suppose G to start, I can transpose the key if required from what you give me. Much appreciated. Verse and chorus below.

My name is McShane from the plains of Kildare
A Farmer I was until the last year,
Till I took a notion to try a promotion,
Went over to England to harvest the shear.

Chorus
Room toora la, room toora laddie,
room toora la musha room tooralay

Re: McShane from Kildare

Oops - I put spaces between the chord letters but they got eaten.
Ands it's *four* different chords.

Next time you have a question about a song best ask the friendly people at the Mudcat Cafe. For variations of the words see:
http://www.mudcat.org/thread.CFM?threadID=32688

BTW I know thew song from an LP by John Leonard and John Squire, Sheffield.
Hope this helps.
