Documentary on Dublin's Mick O'Connor

Documentary on Dublin's Mick O'Connor

Available to view for free online, Tg4 recently aired a documentary on the great Dublin flute player and music collector Mick O'Connor.

On the program are performances and interviews with many of the most prolific exponents of Irish Music from Dublin, and also the rest of the country.

In addition, there is some extremely rare video footage of the legendary Tommy Potts playing fiddle.

The program is available to view online at tg4.ie For those of you who have no Irish, there is a box near the centre top of the screen to translate the site into English. Click on Live TV in the red box on the bottom left of the page, then on "Ceol", and the program should be first on the list.

With the current spate of discussion topics 'slagging' musicians for lack of artistic integrity and humility, I would humbly suggest this man is beyond reproach in this regard.

All hail Mick O'Connor!

A great programme indeed about a great man and a great fafmily so generous with their time passing on the music to the next generation in Dublin.
