Trad Guitar lessons Dublin

Trad Guitar lessons Dublin

Hi,
I have been playing guitar for a couple of years. Mainly pop, rock etc...A couple of friends and cousins play trad music(banjo's, concertina, fiddle) and I'm interested in learing how to play along with them on rythym guitar. From watcing a few sessions I see alot of trad guitarist use alternate tunings and I'd like to learn these and the theory behind them etc...

Does anyone know where i could get lessons in Dublin on weekdays (prefereably southside)
Thanks in advance for any advice given....Dave.

Re: Trad Guitar lessons Dublin

One alternate tuning you should try for ITM is DADGAD. There 's lot of stuff on the internet on this tuning. Some session players bring two guitars to sessions - one in DADGAD and other in EADGBE.

Clontarf School of Music - I know its northside but Paul who runs the school is an excellent guitar player with a great feeling for ITM
