Web Based ABC Program

Web Based ABC Program

The ABC programs for Windows are seriously outdated! Wouldn't a simple Web-based program, be in order? It'd be so nice to have a page set up to enter a tune, render an image & hear it played back. You'd get all the PC & Mac users at once. Any programmers feel like helping the entire folk music community by making this format easier and more accessible?

Type your abcs and click on submit. Tadaa, you can get a small web image, a whole pdf and a midi (though I don't know of what quality).

Re: Web Based ABC Program

I've always used this program for creating the pdfs, because I feel they look better than the output of other programs, however I find it is a bit of a hassle to always submit changes again, so I prefer formatting the abcs in the abc-Navigator (the instant display is great to see the changes) and afterwards convert on concertina.net, but no program necessary. Hope this helps.

Indeed Paul Schwartz's Convert - A -Matic. It is well updated.

Re: Web Based ABC Program

I'm currently writing a web-based abc editor. Progress is slow because I don't have as much free time as I would like.

Email me if you are interested.

Re: Web Based ABC Program

I mostly use ABC Navigator, but ABC Explorer is very useful too and has some interesting features: http://abc.stalikez.info/abcex.php
