My name is Brendan R. McDonough and I am the Chairman of the 2003 An Ri Ra Montana Irish Festival. I would like to invite all of you to the festival in Butte. Butte is the greatest mining camp in the world, and the Irish contribution to the city is still much alive today. Butte is one of the most populated Irish cities in regards to the percentage in the entire country. Our history is rich and our pride is unwavering. Do not miss the opportunity to be involved in some of the many sessions that we foresee happening as part of this festival. I would like to point out that the dorms at the college were booked for the festival performers by the executive committee to ensure that we could have the performers stay in a centralized area. The dorm rooms are not available to guests of the festival because there are none left and were never available to the public. However, there are very reasonable rates at the motels in and around Butte. I would encourage you to find accomadations as soon as possible as we are receiving a huge response for this festival.
Some folks from thesession.org are coming to Helena the week ahead for tunes and craic, and we'll all caravan down to Butte (an hour south by covered wagon for Lunasa, Trinity, et al. Should be a great week for the tunes in Montana.
Gonna be a blast! We'll see you there, Brendan, you'll recognize us, I'm sure, by the poached egg eyes and frenetic tune playing at the drop of anyone's hat...
