Thanks Davydd - great stuff (effectively Siabh Notes with a substitute guitarist and where would you get a better sub than Steve Cooney?); if the clip wasn't posted like this I'm sure many of us would have missed it. The middle one (John Walsh's) is one of my favourites and the way it's played here is how I learned it. However, some musicians reverse the "A" and "B" parts and as we've discussed here before it can lead to a very awkward session situation where, if musicians play it both ways, then it becomes well nigh impossible to finish the tune!
Got a bit of a slow connection here, which means I get to hear it in 2-3 bar snatches, so not enjoying it as much as I might. But great stuff nevertheless.
Thanks davydd. I love watching Cranitch bow, and the other two are brilliant too, lovely guitar accompaniment. I just kept watching it over and over again. I enjoyed the Crede link too, much appreciated...

If you're using Firefox, get the DownloadHelper plugin at http://www.downloadhelper.net/
and you can download the video from youtube so you can watch it at any time without having to wait. The downloaded file's name will end with ".flv". There are a number of media players that will let you play the FLV files. If you don't already have one installed (I can't remember if Windows Media player does or not), I recommend Media Player Classic: http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli
The download page can be a little confusing. This link should do the job for you, I think: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358

Re: Sliabh Luachra Polkas
Bannerman... we have that same problem with calliope house at our session.
I learned the second and third tune from the band Crede. In fact it's basically the same set except they play Nell Fee's first.
You can hear it on their myspace:

Re: Sliabh Luachra Polkas
Granama - pause the playing until it's all there (or nearly all there) on the progress bar, then let it rip. Great stuff.

Re: Sliabh Luachra Polkas
Great music. Polkas can be treated as - and sound - a bore in sessions, and clips like this show they're not.

There's also software that lets you extract audio from just about any video file (including FLVs) called SUPER ©:
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
The way the download is set up only works with Internet Explorer for some odd reason. It's complicated enough that they have a separate help guide just for downloading it:
http://www.erightsoft.com/dlhelp.html
There's also software that lets you enter a Youtube url and directly save the sound portion as an mp3:
http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/dvd/convert-YouTube-to-MP3.htm
I haven't used it myself, but I've seen it recommended.
Use this power wisely.
