Hi. Last weekend my flute was stolen from a bar in East Durham, NY. The flute was in a gun case, which was inside of a black knapsack. The knapsack was a black Dakine bag. The flute is a Terry McGee keyless blackwood. It is the Grey Larson Perfered model, but I do not know the serial number. Any info on the flute or its whereabouts would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted through the site or at rob_handel [AT] yahoo.com. Thanks.
Really sorry to hear about this, Rob. It's terrible thing to have happened. It used to be one of those socially unacceptable things to do - mess with a musician or their instrument(s) - you know, like horse-thieving. But it seems those days have gone.
Sorry for the scare guys, but today I did get it back. I waited a week before posting anything, just to be sure, but it figures that the day I announce it, I got the flute back. It turns out that a friend had picked it up and left it in the office of the hotel for me. He just called me today to tell me though. Thanks for the concern!
And here I was imagining that the person who stole it thought they were taking a gun. I could almost see the news story about the attempted holdup at the Milk Run gas station and convenience store, where the perpetrator reached into a black knapsack and threatened the attendant with a keyless wooden flute. "Give me all your cash, a pack of Marlboros, a pack of Twinkies, and a large coffee, or I'll play http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1587 " the assailant was quoted as saying.

Re: Stolen Flute
I am sure Terry will have the serial number if you bought it direct from him, or from Doc Jones? Might help the search?
Hope you get it back.
