I think Douglas and Weld counties have the highest foreclosure rates in the country. Can probably pick up some bargain homes there.
Fairly active session scenes in Fort Collins, Longmont, Erie, Denver, and Boulder. Rumors of such in Colorado Springs (but they stab flute players there: http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/18835). Not so sure about the rest of Colorado--the Front Range is where most of the sessions are found.
No, Pete is right re: real estate in Colorado. The major sessions are in Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. There is no way you will find a $100,000 3 bedroom house within a reasonable driving distance -- say like 45 minutes to an hour -- of any of those major Front Range cities.
I second that. It's cheaper to live in Wyoming and visit Colorado. But it's becoming hard to find a 3 bedroom here for $100,000. In our neighborhood, homes are going for $150,000 to well over $200,000. And it's not a fancy neighborhood. Everytime we go to CO (not often), we pick up a housing mag and see run down dumps going for minimum of $150,000. And that's for places like converted garages.
Lovely Session in Denver. The Starbucks closes at 8pm, though. Why in God's name would DEMOCRATS want to hold a convention where Starbucks, purveyors of grossly overpriced, faux-green water in plastic bottles, kicks customers out at 11?
Cost of Living/Irish music in Colorado
Cost of Living/Irish music in Colorado
Anywhere in Colorado, where the cost of living is reasonable---- meaning you can buy a decent 3 br house for 100,000 ---
A N D.... within the reasonable commute to an Irish Session or two?

I'm sure Reverend et al. will chime in on this.

Re: Cost of Living/Irish music in Colorado
What do you consider a "reasonable commute"?
You're pretty much not going to find a 3br house in any of the cities that have sessions for $100K
You might be able to live in a place like Greeley or somewhere that is about an hour drive into the Denver/Boulder area for that kind of price.

Hmmm...Rev, judging by your lukewarm reply, I suspect you first read McCracken's member profile....

So, McCracken, just out of curiosity, where do you live now, and what's drawing you to Colorado?

Re: Cost of Living/Irish music in Colorado
Here's one close to your price range, though it's only 2 bedrooms. Right in Reverend's neighborhood....
