Colorado Springs, Colo.
An 18-year-old man is hospitalized in critical but stable condition after he was stabbed late Wednesday. Police say Nathan Hughes was stabbed in the neck at an apartment building about 9:15 p.m. He was taken to a nearby hospital for surgery. Witnesses say Hughes was outside his apartment playing his flute when the attack occurred. Authorities are searching for suspects. No arrests have been made.
Hey Reverend - the repercussions for bum notes sure come swiftly in your neck of the woods!
Maybe he was playing Jethro Tull interminably outside someone else's apartment. That would drive anybody bonkers. Though maybe Jethro Tull weren't big in the USA.
Tull had it's day in the states - most notably, when the Grammys? gave out it's very first Heavy Metal award to Ian Anderson and the boys over Metallica and were roundly booed off stage. The poor sods never knew what hit them. Maybe the attacker in this story was a disgruntled metal head still biter over the insult.
Yikes, I just had a look at the Colorado Springs Gazette home page: that was the second stabbing (the other was fatal) in one night. Also a gang style execution, and a natural gas explosion that closed roads in one area. I had no idea the Springs was so troubled....
Nicholass you're a fool. Tull just played Red Rocks 2 weeks ago. That venue was closed for 5 long years due to a Tull concert in 1971 when 1,000 tickets were sold without seats available. Police cars over turned and SWAT teams ensued. I doubt Tull has any problems with attending fans here in the US & A.
Not like anyone is walking into a Focus on the Family church and blow away people during xmas season you know.
Each street gang in the USA has its own set of reels and jigs.
You must not play anything from another gang's sets. If you do, you're
breaking the code of honor. In LA and NYC there are so many gangs
that sessions have to be very short - maybe just 15 minutes or so ...

Why do you think I play banjo? If people come after me, I have a good weapon at my disposal

Re: Colorado flute attack
See, if they had local laws restricting flute players, people wouldn't feel the need to take matters in their own hands. It's a shame, I tell ya!

Seriously though, poor guy, that is pretty screwed up.

Re: Colorado flute attack
There's got to be more to the story. Maybe someone's girlfriend was enticed by the music and it was a jealous boyfriend with a knife?

Imagine the carnage if the victim had been playing piano accordion....
