I am looking for a good pipe case. I ordered one from a Spanish company who had one on display at last November's Kennedy Festival in Armagh, but they cant deliver. It was leather bound, shoulder strap and had sections inside to prevent pieces rolling around.
Anyone know where I could get something like this?
You might do even better, if you have the inclination.
I went to my local department store and slected a more than large enough suitcase, with wheels and everything, with external pockets for my tools, reeds, sheet music, pitchpipe, and even most of my regular-use whistles.
I now have a case that literally holds everything and then some, and nothing I have seen on the market can match it.
I've heard of some that use hard-shell shotgun cases. My favorite instrument case I ever saw belonged to a French guitarist. It was a tuba case, but the inside had been custom molded to fit his guitar. He put his guitar in it, locked it up, and proceeded to jump on it, yelling "I LOVE MY GUITAR CASE!!"
Double violin or viola cases are prevalent in our club. I'm probably going to get a viola case in the near future. I currently have a mid 50s violin case ( the white speckled kind that band kids would carry to school) for my pipes. What I'd lie to find is a mid 50-60s tenor sax case, the kind with the stitching in the case.

Cheaper, too.

Re: Uilleann Pipes Case
Use a cheap rectangular fiddle case, and take the padding out.

Re: Uilleann Pipes Case
I agree with sampy. The breakdown shotgun case I got from Gander Mountain works perfectly.
And if I remember correctly it was under $50.00
