I own/play one. Haven't recorded it yet. I would be surprised if Michael didn't have a bunch of sound samples of it.
It is sure a sweet, very musical sounding, very easy to play whistle. Everybody that tries it says the same thing.
One thing to be aware of is it sounds even better and plays even easier when it is very warm. The metal is very thin on these whistles, and that makes them more sensitive to temperature. The low notes are the most effected by temperature. Even just running your hands over the whole thing quickly until you feel the temperature normalized really enhnances the tone and playability.
The intonation is astonishing, and the note quality is really clear. I have a standard one that is a few years old. I've started playing it more and more (I play fiddle mainly).
Burke Low D
Burke Low D
Does anyone have really "pure" sound sample (without any effects) of Burke Low D...Please also tell me if you have Viper or ordinary model. Thanks!!!
