Seeking Fiddle Sessions\Instruction in Troy/Albany, NY area

Hi all,

I just moved to Troy, NY for work and I'm looking to continue Irish fiddle lessons (Beginner to Intermediate) as well as scope out the local sessions. If anyone could recommend a teacher or point me towards the times and locations of sessions I would be forever in your debt!

Hey Jasten-
I've never actually been to this -- and it's a bit of a schlep -- but check out the weekly session in Saratoga:

You should also get to know Old Songs; they have a big festival in late June and sponsor concerts, workshops and other events during the year-

I'm sure these will give you some good leads.
Hope you enjoy the area -- I spent quite a few years living in and around it.

Theres a session every once in a while over in Chatham NY. The place is called The Pint of Gerew or something. The spelling on that is off because its spelt in some kinda Welsh style, but phonetically thats it.

I did a search: It's Peint o Gwrw, at 36 Main Street (518-392-BEER).
I grew up not far from Chatham, so I'd be interested to hear about this session.

Visit the Fiddler's tour web site. I spent 3 years in Albany and the "Tour" folks will get you connected. I suggest attending one of their Tuesday night events to get connected.
