At a guess I would say button boxes. He says that they played tunes the accordionists couldn't follow; an easy way to get rid of a button box player is to play tunes in dodgy keys. If the fluters had keyed flutes that would be job-done. Obviously I'm only guessing here.
Also there weren't that many piano boxes around during the week.
One can only suspect that they were Button boxes,as the piano accordionists wouldnt have stepped inside the door before the whole thing was packed and gone.Packing up and leaving is the E flat of the piano accordion world

I saw the horsebox-converted-RV. Thought it was brilliant. Those guys definitely had the most upscale accommodation in the campsite.
