The recent discussion on singing brought up a good point about musicians who can both play and sing well. Micho Russell springs to mind as does Meatti Jo Sheamuis and Colm O'Donnell. Breda Kelville proved herself on The Hop Down, Sean Keane is very handy at both, Cathal McDonnell has more or less written the book, Seamus and Brendan Begley, Tim Lyons. Anybody else have their favourites ?
Who's the woman singer from Danu? Can't remember, but the Anglicised spelling of her name is McAuliffe - she came out to New Zealand in June to play and sing in Ceol Aneas, which is our wonderful Irish music and dance estival.
Holy S..t what a voice - even with a slight cold she has the most amazing power, richness and sweetness. And is a really fab flute player too.

Whats the difference between Bing Crosby and Walt Disney?
Bing sings and Walt Disney!
(try with Scots accent!)

Re: Musicians who swing both ways
On a similar note, what do Bing and Walt have in common?
(almost there)
THEY'RE DEAD!

Re: Musicians who swing both ways
Walt Disney did, in fact, sing When You Wish Upon a Star to introduce each episode of his TV series.

Re: Musicians who swing both ways
Disney is not technically dead but his head is frozen in nitrogen somewhere. Seriously
