A 'cacophony'!!! So many may be lacking any true sense of rhythm and now they''ll have the excuse of being deaf, but probably won't admit thatt either...
In all honesty, it was quite a good program. I understand roughly every fifth or sixth word but I love to immerse the ears...en Gaeilge, not en bodhran, I mean.
The Chieftains were there at the beginning of the program, and at the end. What was really interesting to see were all the different cultures' percussionists jamming out in the streets, and all the locals loving every minute of it. One chap had a whole steel drum set-up and was an amazing player. It seems folks come from all over for this shindig. They had some Mardi Gras-style mummers, a chap with a conga accompanying a session ("HERESY!" I hear someone yelling from the background...) and so on.

Re: Feilte 2008
I'm watching this right now, what a riot. Big huge gang of goat skin wackers. I tried to grab a screen capture of it to torment people with, no luck.

Re: Feilte 2008
Perhaps Floss, perhaps! Technically speaking, 300 bodhran players and no melody instruments is playing with yourself in a way...
