I also know people still booking rooms at the various places up there, so don't think it's too late. There are other places a little further out of the thick of things, a short ride. Listings of places to call at the main site: http://www.east-durham.org/irishartsweek/
Heh, I was at a festival last year in Ireland, and met up with another session.orger. We were playing in a session late one night, and as we got up to leave, she was rather accosted by an older gentleman who appeared to be fairly drunk. She was too polite to tell him off, so I decided to try to rescue her by asking if she needed a ride. She said yes, and the other guy stopped bothering her in short order. It wasn't until we got outside that another friend from the UK informed us that I really should have offered a "lift".
So if any of you people from Ireland or the UK are over for the festival, and someone offers you a ride, don't get your hopes up (or offended, for that matter!)
Just saw on another group list that Gavins has a room for the week. 518-634-2582. Still time to register for classes too just in case anyone thinks it's too late.

"Queen rooms".... "with private waterfall" ? It's getting that I can't communicate with Merkins anymore.
