I know the one row melodeon's have taken a back seat to 2 row boxes in ITM, but I like the sound of the melodeon. I am aware that most melodeons are either in the keys of D or C. The one row in G is still used in Newfoundland. Has anyone seen the G melodeon used in Ireland or England as of late?
I've repaired three of them in the last couple of months. They are fairly popular in England for providing music for the Morris, where G is the predominant key.
I have one, hohner 4 stop, and love it. not an expensive rig, and it holds its own in tone and loudness. just wish the keyboard was a bit better built.... love its deepness and growl

If you like it, check Alan Morrisroe on these links. He will often use a two row, but one at a time. Great player, great old style:
