Yes the summer festival season is upon us. Only three weeks to the festival of festivals, Willie Clancy Week in Milltown Malbay, for me the summer festival season really begins then.
So which festivals are y'all going to?
The Galway Sessions? Blas? Willie Week? Douglas Hyde? Tubbercurry? Drumshanbo? Glencomcille? Feakle? Mrs. Crotty? Masters of Tradition? The Fleadh? Fiddlers Green? Phil Murphy? Scoil Acla? Ballyshannon? Coleman Festival?
There's so many to choose from but which will you choose?
started with john mckenna weekend last weekend in leitrim,. now for the summer, willie week, ballaghdereen, tubbercurry, drumshanbo, achill, connaught fleadh, all ireland fleadh, should be a good oul summer hopefully.
I'm gong to Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend the end of June. I live way up in the left hand corner of the US in Washington State. Like grumblingoldwoman, I won't be making it off the continent this year.
Milwaukee Irish Fest...finally. It's always the weekend that I used to have to drive down to school in Oklahoma. Now that I'm done, I can finally go. Yipee! 'Bout freakin' time...
Can't go anywhere this summer, so I decided to work on one myself. We're setting off this September. Planned to invite Seamus Begley and Jim Murray, but it didn't work out. Oh well, no good Irish music this summer for me. Anyway, if anyone of ye like other sort of trad, ethno and world music, come over to Warsaw. We could set up a nice session.
Don't want to shmooze the discussion board, so I'll post a link to the festival in my profile.
Tomorrow I'll be with Brian Conway and company, and the Makem Brothers, right up the road from my home. East Durham is coming up fast, as long as hubby doesn't lose his job. Well, even if he does, I;m registered. Then I will find a place to get my fix in August, and perhaps September.
Boxwood Flute Festival in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia! Brian Finnegan is one of the teachers this year, it should be a blast!
And if I get the chance to, I'll probably hop over to Ireland for a bit (I live in Norway at the moment), since I have to go there anyhow to apartment hunt Any recommendations on the late August/early September festival scene in Cork or Limerick preferably (or Galway)?
I know what you did last summer.......
I know what you did last summer.......
