hello and im glad to come across this wonderful site.maybe some of you may help with the following.im an established musician, percussion, guitar, mandolin. i play all sorts of music like rock, metal, country and paddy. im interested in gettin better at the paddy music or as is called on here, the trad.i can play whiskey in me jar and a few other paddy songs but want to get into some other fast ones like in floggin molly. the ones without the words. should i play em on mandolin or electric guitar? whos good to listen to? some one told me rory gallagher is legend..im comin to dublin in july.does he do gigs in the city? cheers guys!
I'd get down the Blythe on Thurs night, but get there early so you can set up your amp, lights and pa and stuff before anyone gets there. Then you'll be able to do all the trad Pogues and U2 and "paddy" stuff along wiv the bwoyz!
I'm sure you'll gets lots of valued opinions about doing "paddy".
Rory often gets in there jammin with Mr Lynnott and even Val Doonican turns up with his musical cardigan on occasions.
New Pure drops - your Latvian siren talks words of large wisdom and speaks English well for only being in country a short distance - and thanks again for making another pathetic guitar wind-up worth reading for a few moments.
Now I must go play my paddy music. It beckons me like Phil Lynott on the cover of Live and Dangerous.

Re: advice needed
I give this wind-up a 2 out of 10, only because I'm a nice guy and I don't give anybody a 1.

Re: advice needed
In this situation always I think of advice from Latvian songbird Rūta Muktupāvela.
Say she many time: If my lover's boat was not to be made of wood, the lapping waves might then sound of indignant sorrow. Rubber can it be best?!
In song these words have the special.

Re: advice needed
Play the electric guitar. Johnny Fean and Richard Thompson were wonderful players of "Paddy" music on the electric guitar.
Now this might come as a shock, but Rory Gallagher is dead, since 1995. It is his anniversary this Saturday.
