''have you ever had a go at clumsy lover. The faster you play the better. Speed up towards the end.''
aaARGH please no, It just sounds so much better played at an easy pace. All the lilt is lost, the beauty, it just becomes a blur of notes , Look how fast I can play' egocentric display. A cracking 5 part reel, murdered by so many.
you want tunes to play fast? try;
the concertina reel
Anything for john joe
pinch of snuff
foxhunters
I like a fast tune as much as anyone. But speed is the result of relaxation.which is the result of confidence, which is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication.
Jesus Jig, you're some man - more with the hard work...toil and sweat.
Its not all about that.
There's more to life than music. Most people I know that play have jobs. Music is their switch off from that stuff. But not work.
Going to pubs from a young age, playing the same tunes with your family and friends is your childhood - not work. Play music rather than doing homework. NOT WORK.....or was it always work for you?
(Don't tell me who said what, or how long you've been playing for. I know)

http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/7588 (this was actually written for banjo)
Very cool, and sometimes weird, though not exactly what I'd call *crazy* tunes:
