Tune name

Tune name

I just heard this jig at a session tonight. I asked someone for the name and they said it might be from the Bothy Band. It's familiar to me. I can only remember the B part which goes something like

|def g3|afd edB|def g2 e|fed e2 B|
|def gbb| ....

I'm not 100% sure of the rest.

It's in G major. Any ideas?

Re: Tune name

St. Pat Day in the Morning is not exactly a jig but a set dance with a bit awkward structure.

Boys on the Town? http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1035

Would be the second ending as you have it in your post.

Re: Tune name

I was thinking St. Patrick's Day but knew it wasn't because I play that tune. Good guess though.

It is indeed Boys of the Town and of course, it's Matt Molloy's recording I have. Thanks Jason.
