I will be heading to miltown in july for the week, but as I live in australia and am heading down on my own I fear that I may sit through most of the evenings on my own.
Anyone else heading down there on their lonesomes that would like to buddy up. I'm a 32 year old intermediate player from Cork that likes a chat and a pint.
Depending on who replies we might be able to get a group together to pal around with in the evenings rather than just bein another face in the crowd.
A "Session" session was arranged last year, and a bunch of us met up on the Thursday. Hopefully it should happen again. Watch this space.
[ bb - will be in touch in the next day or so ]
The best sessions at Willie week actually happen outside MM, in pubs that are in nearby towns. Fewer people, better players, and more fiddles than bodhrans, more flutes than guitars. You might even get to sit down.
Am signed up for 6 hours of lessons a day so just looking for someone in a similar situation to share a few pints with in the evening while listening to the music either inside or outside of MM.
On the subject of pubs in nearby villages, quite a few have closed down over the years; same in Miltown itself. Maybe we'll see the return of street sessions.

Re: Clancey Week -
Unfortunately I will not be there as I rarely mix with amateurs, which should please Cocus.
