I'm wondering if anyone can give me details of a good fiddle teacher in Sydney / player of anything, with a strong knowledge of irish fiddle techniques, for a couple of lessons with a group of people, not just one-on-one.
It would be for a band who are already playing, wanting some tips on how to improve their overall sound - more like a tutor i guess.
bb gets out at a afir bit, come along to Durty's or Kelly's in newton and she's there every other week or so...
and Mr. Greenwiggle... well, he's more of the mystic-shaman-type, who imparts he's musical genius infrequently on us, but makes us feel better about life when he does. He definately has given lessons in the past, it's just how busy he is at the mo i guess.
and there's always Ivan (er, some sydney-sider please post ivan's last name, how embarrissing...) Ivan is the great under-discovered country of Aussie fiddle playing,but i don't know if he gives lessons or not - email me and i'll suss him out if you'd like.

Been playing about six months and know about 10 tunes. I'm having a little trouble with bowing, and I tend to do one stroke per note without even knowing it.
Ideally, I'm just looking for a few hours lessons a week for a few weeks. Someone who I can watch play and ask some questions etc....Will pay going rate.
