Did any one else hear this group yesterday morning on BBC Radio 3?
Sorry if they've been discussed here before but it was new to me and I thought they sounded great.
They played a piece called Hale Bop (not sure about the spelling) which is a composition by one of the band members. The following web page has a link at the bottom to a Real Media stream which gives a nice long set.
The Hale Bop tune starts at 16.40. but the rest of the gig is good too.
Their style is a mix of folk and other elements so the 'purists' have been warned!
I hope the rest of you find it as enjoyable as I did. Go to;
Oh yes. I'm a big fan!! I've even had the pleasure to do some jamming with Arto Jarvela. Who is one of their fiddlers. Who does plenty of solo stuff in addition to JPP.
I did not get the chance to hear them on this broadcast though...maybe I can find it archived somewhere hopefully.

Oops! I mean 15.40 for the hale bop tune (it's my eyes!).
I also forgot to mention that there is a fine display of 'air fiddle' playing from a chap in the crowd!

I guess the name of the tune would be "hale-bopp", after the famous comet...

Be very careful when drinking alongside their bass player Antti... I've learned my lesson by the great school of hangovers.
But they're amazing! There are some great clips at youtube, also check out FRIGG - a band with some of the same members.
