Some years ago at the Trad Fest in Ennis five of us from the Yellow Board ended up playing together in a session in the Auburn Lodge Hotel purely by coincidence - I remember Ottery and Fiddlin Sue from Germany were there plus a Scandanavian musician and it definitely made it a more memorable occasion.
I just thought that next week in Ennis might be another opportunity to put some faces to our handles and maybe this would be easier if people gave some indication of events they may be attending. For me it will be mostly the session oriented things such as Club Fleadh Nua, the Foinn Seisiún workshops and launch of CD3 in Glór plus the farewell session on Monday morning in the Queens. Also the Denis Liddy/Michael Hynes event on Tuesday night and Frank Custy's Tribute concert plus of course Seán Ó Sé with the Turloughmore on Suday and Wednesday nights respectively are other possibilities.
Well I'll be at my launch Brian! ;) 9pm on the Friday in the Templegate, so it's before the Foinn Seisiun one. Hopefully there'll be a few tunes after it... plenty of craic anyways. Would love to make the Denis Liddy/Michael Hynes thing too but I think I've got a practice for the Riches of Clare gig the following week.
I know your CD is being released next week Trish but I managed to get my hands on one that must have escaped a few days ago and there's some mighty fiddling on it. Congrats and I hope you have a great night in the Templegate!
