I think there's an old saying that goes something like "an ounce of breeding is worth a ton of feeding" and you've only got to remember the great P Joe Hayes (Martin's father and a founder member of the legendary Tulla Céilí Band) to see where Martin gets it from!

There's a very good interview with Martin on this week's Tuesday show on Clare FM ("Music in the Glen" hosted by Claire Keville). He plays a few tunes, also.

yes, he is over there right now and for the next few days you can access a brilliant lengthy interview with lots of in-studio live fiddling on claire keville's tuesday nite "music in the glen" show for may 6, on clarefm.ie.......the latter half of the show, more or less, is martin hayes talking to claire about the award, the music, his take on the music, interspersed with wonderful fiddling. it is really like a master class/concert.......

oh, silly me, i missed alec b's post about the clare fm show, sorry....

to make it up, i'll offer a youtube alert-----a super recently-materialized clip of martin playing for dancers in tulla at the tulla festival put on last september....it is a brilliant clip.....of course, the fact that martin is playing with Kings of Swing andrew mac, mark donnellan and jim corry doesn't hurt any.....i'll try copying the link below, but also, the clip is titled:

The ceili with the most gorgeous music in the world!
