Don't be silly. Irish music should be acoustic. We don't want any electronic trickery at sessions. Just use the ones you sit on. In D or G of course (or F). They can be sat next to the shakey egg section. And should smell similar.
it certainly has that nice,r aw, unproduced sound. Still needs work though, I either want to play my instrument OR roll around the floor, not both at the same time....
Whoopee Cushion
Whoopee Cushion
Is a whoopee cushion suitable for use in ITM? How about an electronic, battery operated fart generator?

Do you mean smell like shakey eggs? I had no idea shakey eggs went off!

Re: Whoopee Cushion
Strictly acoustic, of course, no electronics allowed. Perfect for playing the Dingle Regatta. Or to underscore the dramatic pauses in Danny Boy.

Re: Whoopee Cushion
Have you ever seen Sam Bartlett's Stuntology human bagpipe? A bent straw from the mouth tucked under the armpit makes a wonderful acoustic "sound".

(and he's a fine ITM player to boot...)

You may unleash all the Whoopee Cushion noises you like, as long as
-it's all memorized;
-you don't use any music notation; and
-it doesn't become a performance

We often use one when we play the flatulence set: Fanny Power followed by South Wind.

Re: Whoopee Cushion
I think you need a digital one so you can run it through a phase shifter or even a wah wah switch.......
It's also easier for mixing because you can give it a separate channel on your digital recorder

Re: Whoopee Cushion
It isn't a whoopee cushion, but this method seems to have taken its inspiration from the same musical fruit (i.e., beans).
