I have an old violin (marked Kopf) which is a family heirloom.
Years ago it got partially dismantled (dont ask me...)
It requires at least a new soundpost, bridge and tailpiece.
i hope to do it up, with a view to learning the fiddle (i already play tenor banjo), or if it doesnt suit me i'll pass it on to someone else in the clan.
could anyone offer a personal recommendation of a good (and fair priced?) Luthier in London, UK
Having read all the stories about badly fitted soundposts etc, i dont want to just try anyone....
My other option is to stick it on the wall and buy something cheap n cheerful to learn on, but i would prefer to resurrect the Kopf if possible; i dont want to spend more than £200 or so.
