Are those two guys gay? Not that it matters, it's just that they're wearing the exact same thing and have the same haircut and such. They seem to be trying to look alike.
i think he did get it (above), technological talent and mediocre music make for errrm ... mediocre music ... still, if you've got nothing better to do, why not?
Actually, I really liked it, thought is was dead funny, I really warmed to the guy/guys/gays/brothers ... (The timing was perfect. I thing the guy on our right was filmed second. He's clearly watching the fist guy on a monitor, then reacting. Very well done, dead funny) ... until he played.
mehitabel23- Well he needs something to make up for his lack of technical music skill. Less time on the computer and more time whistling would do wonders.
the most alarming things about that video are his resemblance to 'Darren' from 'Bewitched' and the worrying looking exercise contraption in the background...
Ingeniously done. Certainly looks like the one on the left was recorded first.
Not criticising thesession.org but on some forum music sites there's the option to post recordings of your own playing on your user account. It's nice to be able to measure people's comments against that context, (assuming there's been no cheating, of course!)
The Blarney Pilgrim as played by The Chuckle Brothers. Little bit 'cringe making and naff 'for my liking. Jig sound like it was learnt from the sheet and left at that, missed a few ornamentation's here and there. I also think the guy on the left was the better player. However as somebody who is still struggling with using a Mobile phone, I have to admire his technical capabilities. It was also nice to see the word 'Awesome' been used again in the UTube comments. I haven't seen that word since 'well......the last time I looked at Utube'..................!
This is one of the things which I like about YouTube. I can listen to different versions of the tunes which we play at our local session without having to travel out-of-state and visit at other sessions. Some of these versions are of what not to do but some of the other versions of the tunes are good.
I don't think two of me would be allowed at the local session. Either one of us would be made to leave or we would have to take turns playing the digital piano.
i think the video is funny. and the poor guy learning isnt so bad either. i think as far as amateur youtube videos go, they are very enjoyable, tasteful, and in time! there is not much more you can ask for.
i thought they were wonderful. they are very obviously not professionals, and they are not going to wow my socks off with technical abilities or with soul. but jeez louise they made me smile, and what else is more important? i especially like the newly-learning guy, too. it made me smile because of the innocense of the recording and the pure lack of any sort of bravado. he presented to us himself as he was and i am thankful.

Re: The Blarney Pilgrim
I put it up purely for the craic, not as an example of great playing.
He certainly needs more 'oomph', more 'soul'. I'm sure it'll come, he appears to be a lively lad who can feel the beat.
...both of them do.
