I need to get ready for my trip to Ireland in June!!! I'm not a bad fiddler (been playing for 8 years), but I'm short on tunes. Any suggestions about tunes I might want to know? Also, are there any sessions in the Doolin area that are begginer/intermediate friendly?

The problem with 'common tunes' is people often groan when you play them, so a mix of 'standards' (and Dow's list is as good as any) and some more unusual (but fairly well-known) ones is a better bet.
You should get one or two of the 'session tune' books out there and you will find most of the Dow list in the 'essential' or 'elementary' volume, to borrow the nomenclature used by Mally, who seems to publish the longest list of session tune books (see www.mally.com).

Re: common session tunes
'Members' tab, and then 'Tunebook' tab. You'll see the most added tunes.

Re: common session tunes
You'll find the sessions in Doolin friendly to anyone, especially the one in McGann's with Eoin O'Neill & co.
