Well, my job is on 'hiatus' at the moment, so in my unemployed spare time, I've been working on putting up a CafePress shop to sell ITM-related shirts and goodies. The store is starting to take shape...
But I would love more ideas for other designs. They can be anything from slagging jokes, to inside jokes for musicians, sayings, Irish gaelic oddities, or whatever...
If anybody has any ideas that I make into designs that become successful sellers, I'd be happy to buy you your choice of shirt with your idea...
Maybe something along a Tammy Fay T-shirt but to do with ITM? Now how would you swing that ~ "Guess Who I Bumped Into At The Session?" But what graphic would work ~ I know ~ vomit!!! ~ with tell tale bits in it? You could ask Gary Larson if you could print his cartoon ~ "Welcome to Hell, Here's your Piano Accordion"? I'm sure he'd be amenable...
There's the oft quoated Mr. Ennis with regards to bodhrans and how to play them, though it was his own feet making the offbeat rhythm at the time... You could have a picture of a bodhran on one side, and a pocket knife, and the soles Seamus's feet or shoes on the other side, which were not small...

I want Mickray's t-shirt!!! Also, my husband drives his pickup all around Montana (and it's a manual shift) practicing his whistle and driving with his knees. It scares me to death...but I want ceolachan's t-shirt for that one. I think you're onto something...

After reading Mickray's comment about draining beer out of a fiddle, I wonder just how many pints of beer would it take to fill up a fiddle since a fiddle is basically a hollow wooden box with strings attached to it. Would the beer improve the sound of the fiddle? Or would that depend on what type of beer you fill the fiddle with?
Also, speaking as someone who plays bass fiddle, I am trying to calculate how many kegs of beer it would take to fill up my bass fiddle and would the instrument sound better full of beer? In my case, I would prefer to use my favorite poison, Shiner Bock, to fill up the instrument.
BTW, since my store launched today, you could still officially be my first sale if you see something you want... Hey, Christmas is just around the corner (or it seems to be, as fast as time passes these days...)

I'm really in my teens, Irish Music did this to me...
You could use old out of copyright pictures from the temperance league, and some of the same phrases only to do with Irish music instead of specifically with drink. Thinking of a recent story I heard, no names given, you could use one of those where the person is down and out, and I've seen them of both women and men, and lying in a gutter, then add an instrument someplace ~ the idea that this is what Irish Music Abuse does to people ~ the way of the sinner. You could even do a play on 'Irish Music Anonymous', the IMA, with the play on addiction...and 'dens of iniquity'...
"Dens of Iniguity" ~ I remember a great old graphic of an opium den, it would be easy to remove the pipes and make them all whistles, or add other assorted instruments. There are also some great copyright free graphics from the likes of "Punch". Let's not leave dancers out of this. I remember a great one poking fun at country dance.
"Irish dancer" ~ this one could be something again like the Tux T-shirt, or the cook's apron with the image of a person in the nude. Only instead you'd have ringlets at the top and some really garish and overstated embroidery, or something silly along those lines... Or, the picture of a gurner ~ "Irish Dancer"...
Pete, for all of these, you might also consider just a small logo on the front (upper left) and the main design on the back. Bit more classy than tees with big designs splashed all over the front.

A number of these good ones have been done, so I won't bother re-creating them, but my list is growing faster than I can design! Now if I could actually SELL some, that would be cool!
Remember those old silent movies with the fair young damsel strapped to the tracks and a train coming. Well, you could have a bodhranista strapped to the tracks instead, or other item, maybe just the instrument. Or it could be a road with a big truck, one of those American monstrosities, like a Peterbilt or Mac.
Hey, worse, one of those big Hummers all kitted out and the side of it showing a bodhran and "I bang for no reason at all"...
There's another one for you ~ bumper stickers and those awful damned things with the suction cups that people put in their windows ~ "Baby on Board" ~ ~ ~
I'm leaving that up to imaginations, for which there are many on site here...

There are a couple of problems with shirts with stuff on the back, 1. it adds cost to the shirt, and 2. CP won't do designs on the back of their dark shirts for some inexplicable reason... still trying to figure that one out.

Just an update, 10 days later, up to 69 unique ITM tee-shirt designs... Thanks for all the suggestions! Pretty much everybody who suggested something that I have used so far has gotten a private email.
My goal is 100 designs within the next couple of weeks. And maybe 200 by Christmas!

I'm really in my teens, Irish Music did this to me...
You could use old out of copyright pictures from the temperance league, and some of the same phrases only to do with Irish music instead of specifically with drink. Thinking of a recent story I heard, no names given, you could use one of those where the person is down and out, and I've seen them of both women and men, and lying in a gutter, then add an instrument someplace ~ the idea that this is what Irish Music Abuse does to people ~ the way of the sinner. You could even do a play on 'Irish Music Anonymous', the IMA, with the play on addiction...and 'dens of iniquity'...
"Dens of Iniguity" ~ I remember a great old graphic of an opium den, it would be easy to remove the pipes and make them all whistles, or add other assorted instruments. There are also some great copyright free graphics from the likes of "Punch". Let's not leave dancers out of this. I remember a great one poking fun at country dance.
"Irish dancer" ~ this one could be something again like the Tux T-shirt, or the cook's apron with the image of a person in the nude. Only instead you'd have ringlets at the top and some really garish and overstated embroidery, or something silly along those lines... Or, the picture of a gurner ~ "Irish Dancer"...

Pete, for all of these, you might also consider just a small logo on the front (upper left) and the main design on the back. Bit more classy than tees with big designs splashed all over the front.

Remember those old silent movies with the fair young damsel strapped to the tracks and a train coming. Well, you could have a bodhranista strapped to the tracks instead, or other item, maybe just the instrument. Or it could be a road with a big truck, one of those American monstrosities, like a Peterbilt or Mac.
Hey, worse, one of those big Hummers all kitted out and the side of it showing a bodhran and "I bang for no reason at all"...
There's another one for you ~ bumper stickers and those awful damned things with the suction cups that people put in their windows ~ "Baby on Board" ~ ~ ~
I'm leaving that up to imaginations, for which there are many on site here...

There are a couple of problems with shirts with stuff on the back, 1. it adds cost to the shirt, and 2. CP won't do designs on the back of their dark shirts for some inexplicable reason... still trying to figure that one out.

Just an update, 10 days later, up to 69 unique ITM tee-shirt designs... Thanks for all the suggestions! Pretty much everybody who suggested something that I have used so far has gotten a private email.
My goal is 100 designs within the next couple of weeks. And maybe 200 by Christmas!
