After the last time on this subject, I am using Audiocity to do the slowing down of my lessons. A bit clunky to get the point of exporting to mp3, but it does alot of things and works. And you can't beat the price.
I am using MusicMatch to rip the tunes from my teacher's cd's and convert to mp3 so Audiocity can work with the files. I then export to Music Match so I can burn a new CD with the slowed down version.
MusicMatch is a pain in the arse and I actually paid for the version I have.
Advice greatly appreciated on any other rip/burn/library/archive software (I switched to music match because windows media player is worse than MusicMatch)
I use AudioGrabber to rip cds to wav/mp3 (it's free and pretty straight forward to use). I've heard that Exact Audio Copy is also a good program, but haven't used it myself..
I used to use Nero for burning cds, but when I switched computers it couldn't recognize my cd burner, so I just use Windows Media Player..
I find windows mediaplayer 10 or higher is ok for ripping - otherwise look for a free piece of software called CDex - it's an excellent ripper, however you have to type all the track details in yourself.
iTunes is both free, and an excellent ripper/burner/library program. It can also fill in all the track info if its available in the CDDB database. In my experience working IT, MusicMatch has its share of problems.
Another 'slow downer' software question
