Could someone recommend a good recording (or mp3) of Wind That Shakes the Barley (the reel) that's in a manner like Murphy/Clifford "Star Above the Garter" -- good, enjoyable rendition but basic enough to be able to hear the tune for learning (as one hopes to play it someday anyway). Similar recordings of other "common" tunes appreciated as well. Thanks! Sue
Hmm .... maybe it should cost a mandatory $10 to join this site? But for that you also get the 100 foinn seisiun tunes e-mailed to you and your password isn't activated until you've listened to the whole lot a hundred times?
Good idea, Michael.
Patrick, why would you pay to download when you can listen to them at any time? Unless you think the rug might be pulled from under you, like President Bush shutting down GPS navigation on a whim.
There's another version of the tune on Mary Bergin's Feadoga Stain cd and it's also on a recording by Maurice McSweeney's Stars of Munster - this is a great tune but it's not the same as the version on this site. Perhaps it also has a different name.
Ok ,Thank you for saying the name of those cds, I just bought them on Itunes and am pretty much set for a while! I love the gapless playback on itunes, it is like an actual session. Woot!
why pay itunes when the comhaltas site itself will let you download them all for free? you just have to write click and then select 'download' i think.
