Hi just thought I'd say hello, I've been playing tin whistle for the last few years and just bought my first flute - a Sam Murray special! I've been taken with the flute playing of East Galway musicians recently hence my rush to get a feadog.
Anyway, I look forward to swapping tips/arguing/laughing at or with your comments over time!

We are a woefull shower of messers here but the folks here are the most helpfull and intelectually generous group of misfits you could hope to find anywhere on the net.
Hi, I love that East Galway sound too, though most of my current (limited) repertoire is Kerry music. This is a good site to find tunes and get interesting background information on tunes, musicians, etc. Pat
Welcome. You might be interested in the legendary E. Galway flute player Eddie Moloney. Some nice clips of his playing can be found on this page: http://www.lafferty.ca/music/irish/flute-geezers
Thank you slainte, i've seen that website before and what a mighty one it is too.
thesnowflakes, I love mike raffertys playing, every time I listen to that cd (the one he done with his daughter) I imagine myself listening to him at the fireside drinking a fine brandy while he regails me with tales of days gone by......

Re: Hello! I'm new here
Galway has been a very freindly town on my visits. I brought my little wood box and was surprised how many people wanted to play it!
I am with the Chicago contingent of the 'Mustard Board Misfits', stealing some of savages thunder as it were.
Welcome aboard and post something to get Ilig going. Always in good spirit though.
