pirastro black label strings

pirastro black label strings

Recently picked up some of these strings, but cant find them advertised. ... Anyone any experiance with them? I play a 5 string Viola and the Black label C is round wound as opposed to normal Flat wound.... gives a great edge to the string...
Anyone heard of them?

Re: pirastro black label strings

I found black diamond strings on the Southwest Strings site. I use Pirastro Eudoxa, but have not come across this Black Label C...

Here is the pirastro site:

Re: pirastro black label strings

Yea its baffling. I guess they must have made them in the past and discontinued them.... I too use Eudoxa but the black label is great. I wonder what happened to it. perhaps I will enquire over at pirastro. Thanks anyhow.

Re: pirastro black label strings

Yes, discontinued. Take the Obligatos--same thing.

Re: pirastro black label strings

I did enquire at pirastro but no reply yet.
BUT they simply are not the same, I have an Obligato C string, a Eudoxa C, a yello/gold C and one pirrazzi as well as the black label., the Black label I have is completely different to them all, like I said its round wound not standard flat wound. it sounds so bright and alive next to the others, nothing like the obligato or eudoxa, or pirrazzi.... Any one got experiance with round wound violin/viola strings? Or know if any one else makes them? or if pirastro do them still? like say a round wound obligato?
