On the Danu recording, Danu there is a set with Palmer's Gate and Sailing into Walpole's Marsh. Sailing appears to be a different tune that the Sailing into Walpoles Marsh that I learned from Maeve Donnelly and Peadar's recording. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks
We played a version of Sailing into Walpole's Marsh as a three parter. The third part being the B part of tune 4263. I also heard the tune played this way during Willie Clancy week a few years ago. I think John Kelly was leading that session. I have loved that tune for years, hearing it first on the Andy Irvine Paul Brady album with Kevin Burke. The three part version is lovely and adds an extra level of complexity.

Re: Sailing inWalpole's Marsh
M. Donnelly and P. O'Loughlin's version seems to be a local Clare version. Some say it's different from Sailing into Walpole's Marsh. Have a look: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/4263/comments

Re: Sailing inWalpole's Marsh
The one they play is more often found as Jerry McMahon's. Sailing into Walpole's Marsh is usually the other one.
