So, I've been playing my whistles a lot recently, and I've decided that it's time to take a step up; playing a flute. I have several friends who play the flute, and I already am able to play well, but I still need to get a flute of my own. I've been thinking of getting a Resonance Model flute by Ralph Sweet, but I'd like to know the opinions of some more experienced players before I decide. Thanks!
That is a good flute. The Casey Burns Folk Flute is a good flute. But both of these flutes don't have a tuning slide which is helpful when playing with others. I play my folk flute at the session sometimes and that doesn't seem to be a huge problem as long as I listen to myself and try not to be out of tune.
If I was to buy a new flute for ITM I would get a Forbes http://www.forbesflutes.com/index.html but I have too many flutes right now. Listen to the Kevin Crawford demos for this flute!

Re: A New Flute
Also, go and do a search on the chiff and fipple lute forum. The question is not new and there are a lot of helpful posts floating around there.
