Titled Irish Tradition: Kevin Burke and Micheal Ui Domhnaill. Checked it out because I've always loved their playing. What struck me as strange was that I know these tunes as Scottish Gaelic songs from when I was young. Then I thought "that looks just like home" and then " that's my house". It wasn't, but it was our neighbouring Island, Uist . Funny thing is though the sound is unmistakably Kevin Burke, his take on these tunes is virtually identical to the way you'd expect to hear these tunes here.
I wondered if these tunes are popular in Ireland or if they're known there at all. Anyway, worth a look, lovely music and great really old images of Sligo and, ehhh, Uist and Sutherland!!
