I was messing around yesterday with Pedaling Patterns http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/4178
a lovely little barndance by Charlie Lennon, when, unbidden and without malice of forethought, I segued into Master Crowley's - in barndance rhythm! It turns out that I do this quite often when in my own company (Father Kelly’s, Boy on the Hilltop, etc), as well as putting reels into strathspey time occasionally. Sometimes a barndance is just the ticket for the rhythm train I’m riding, and I’ll stop at nothing - nothing, I tell ya - but just keep taking other tunes aboard, regardless of character or origin. Does anybody else do this, or am I all alone in the club car, blearily knockin’ back pints and fiddlin’ in the corner?
yes -I have done this many times I think its called Boredom,
I mostly take jigs to reels rarer reels to jigs- But it has been
done before -Ie/ Colliers Reel / jig.Though an old guy leslie
craig-{writer-Road to Ballymac} said is easy to get Waltzes
into jigs ,same sort of timeing just faster, Although you may
have to add or remove a note or to- You should try this one
next,,

'barndance' is like putting cheese in a trap for me, as are other things, so I decided to skip over this. I have been so caught up in swinging I've even done a fair Tarzan imitation literally swinging on jungle vines... fortunately for my there weren't any camera...
EV'rybody barndance!
