Nábac

Nábac

I was at a seisiún here in Derry last Thursday, and as we were heading home young Ciarán Ó Dongaile (from the very talented [and modest] Ó Dongaile family from Derry) said to me that he was having an album launch on Sunday and invited me down to it.

So last night I arrived down to the album launch of his band's (Nábac) debut album: "Siar Anoir" upstairs in Sandinos in Derry. There was a nice crowd at it (full house), which was great to see.

The band comprises of: Ciarán Ó Dongaile (uileann pipes, flute and whistles), Noriana Kennedy (vocals and whistles), Liz Coleman (fiddle, mandolin and mandola), Paddy Kennedy
(bodhrán, flute, cajon and tambourine) and James Ryan
(mandola, guitar and banjo).

They have a MySpace page where you can hear some audio tracks: http://www.myspace.com/nabac and a website: http://www.nabacmusic.com also, where you can learn more about them instead of me waffling on here.

They (Nábac) are about to set off on a tour of Germany, so if any members on here from Germany are reading this, I would strongly urge you to go and see them if they are playing anywhere near you.

Was definitely a nice concert / album launch, and keep an eye out for them.

Good to know that, thanks. Looks like a terrific group, I think I'll go to see them.

Re: Nábac

How are ya Paul. Will definitely give you a shout the next time I'm down i mBaile Átha Cliath. Hope all the Browne clan are keeping the best.

Aye, great show indeed!

Apart from Ciarán, the rest of them would all be from down your way originally. Funny, they mentioned the Whelan's (I think) launch too, last night.
