So, as a newbie to the world of sessions, and as I learn to play at least one song well enough to even dare bring my bouzouki to a session, I'm wondering if there are any groups on Facebook or MySpace that feature the local area musicians, news, events, etc. For instance, I'm in Portland, OR and know we have regular sessions but it might be nice to put faces to names. Just curious, that's all. Go raibh maith agat!
No names, and you can't see the faces too well. But you can hear the tunes (not songs!) and that's more important. (Can't put a name to the first one--but the second one is Father Kelly, and it sounds like they just are starting Cooley's Reel when the clip ends.)
hey mick, how's it going up there? great to have seen you last month, and you are still very missed here at home. do not give up guitar as you are quite good but i do understand that there are a lot of guitarists up there.

Thanks, deeor, I recognized the tune, just couldn't think of the name offhand.
The point is--it's better to learn their tunes than their names. The tunes are the main thing.
