I've got an annoying problem when I want to copy a selected piece of text from The Session.
If I try to left-click and drag to highlight some text, it selects ALL the preceding text (including everything on preceding tabs).
My only solution is to paste the whole lot into Word, and reselect my chosen text, but that's a real pain. Anyone had similar problem or got a solution? Thanks.
No, I was able to select just the text of your post. I'm using Firefox 2 (Mac).
...that was me doing it on Windows Internet Explorer (PC) - and of course I can do it on Firefox.
I think it depends on what version of Windows - I was using Windows 2000 or 98 or something a week past and I couldn't do it. Dunno why.
I used to have this problem whith earlier versions of Internet Explorer (IE6). Now I use both IE and Firefox on PC and Firefox on Mac whithout problems
Same problem. It would be a valuable thing to be able to do. I sometimes paste the whole thread into the reply box and then do a huge great partial delete. Antediluvian! I'm XP Home and I use IE.
quick copy - I find that one click does nothing, two fast clicks highlights a word, three fast clicks highlights the sentence.
Highllight a block then cut and paste works fine for me on IE7
Hi all, those that of you who are still using IE 6 will probably have some problems trying to copy and paste text from the session (I think this is due to bugs in the progam).
I would suggest you download the latest version (IE 7) from microsoft or get firefox (2) from mozillas site. Firefox, for me personally, is a much slicker program.
If you highlight the text when the cursor is an arrow then you can't do it. If you carefully move your mouse so that the cursor turns into a large capital I then you can highlight to your hearts content and use ctrl-c to copy.
If you place the cursor within the text itself you'll notice it is not an arrow but the "I" cursor - it's easy to highlight text there. You just need to be a little more careful at the start of blocks of text. Similarly the double or treble click only works when the cursor is not an arrow.

Nice trick there, Geoff! You learn summat new every day. Unfortunately, when I do that, right-clicking doesn't give me a "copy" option.

Or "cut."

Re: Tech: copy/paste from TheSession.org
Thanks to all - nice one Geoff W - a quick 'treble' click treats the abc for a tune as a 'sentence' so that's got round that one nicely.

Re: Tech: copy/paste from TheSession.org
ctrl-c to copy, ctrl-v to paste (unless you're on a mac, in which case you'd use the command rather than the control key)
