Hi everyone. I wrote back in December after getting my first fiddle, eager to get started. I have been struggling through McNevin et al but would really like a teacher. Multiple calls and e-mails to the Irish Music School in Chicago about private lessons have netted me nothing but a sign-up to their newsletter. Weekly hour-long lessons at the Old Town School are pretty expensive (and a little complicated as I'll be going on a long trip--three weeks in Ireland!--midway through the next session). So does anyone know of private fiddle teachers in Chicago who might be willing to take on a 41-yr-old beginner? Thanks!
