Re: Vinnie Kilduff: 50 Irish Tin Whistle Solos

There's a mystery ~ what ever happened with this? It was available for only a short period of time. I remember trying to order quantities of it for stock and distribution, repeatedly, but came up against a brick wall ~ 'unavailable'... I have some fragment of memory that there was 'controversy' involved... :-/

Sorry arpadoro, as a consequence I can't help you. Someone here will undoubtedly have an answer for you...

Great player, no idea where you can get this, although they may have it or a tutor guide by him in Matchett's in Belfast. I will have a look.

Re: Vinnie Kilduff: 50 Irish Tin Whistle Solos

Some years ago, some kind person – and I can’t remember exactly who it was – gave me a cassette tape of Vinnie Kilduff called “Whistle Wizardry”. I still have it, and the tunes are listed. Coincidentally, there are 50 of them. It’s very much a tutor tape, with the tunes being played mainly one at a time, not in sets. Is that the list you are looking for ?
First 3 tunes are “Sean Sa Ceo”, “Boys Of Ballisodare” and “Lord Gordon’s”. You can compare your recording with the sheet music of those tunes on this site. If they are the same, let me know, and if I find time this weekend, I’ll post the titles here for you.

Re: Vinnie Kilduff: 50 Irish Tin Whistle Solos

If it's any help it was produced by Pat Conway, for Conway Editions, which is/was a division of Music Sales Ltd, London, copyright 1989. The transcriptions of Vinnie's playing were done by Gerry O'Connor.

The ISBN 0-7119-1823-6, might help....courtesy of a photocopied library page.

Only other info on page is printed in Ireland by Northern Press Ltd
