Re: just aquired a piano accordian for my wife looking for info
The row nearest the bellows will play bass notes, the other row major chords. They will be arranged in 5ths something like(starting from the furthest end: Eb Bb F C G D A E B F# G# A# The C button is usually has a tactile marker.
Re: just aquired a piano accordian for my wife looking for info
I would guess the same chords as Theo Gibb, maybe shifted to miss the A# and add in an Ab.
The only time I've ever played a two-row, the second row was of power chords, ie. the root plus a perfect fifth. This got over the minor major problem but it wasn't that much fun to play either.

Eb Bb F C G D A E B F# C# Ab Eb going upwards etc.
The 2nd row from the bellows plays the root note.
The row nearest the bellows plays a major 3rd.
Then moving outwards from the root is major chord, then minor, then 7th ten sometimes 6th or diminished ,it varies after the minor chord,

hi, there should be an indent on the C note on the bass, so starting there, going up ( towards yourself) would start: C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C# (if it goes that far). Going down from C would go: C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db (if it goes that far). As regards there only being two columns, the column nearest the bellows is the root note and the second column would be the full major chord. Hope that is useful.

If I was going to swap my wife for an accordion I would have made sure it had at least a 3 row bass.
