After seeing Ceol’s amazing CD bargain of all time http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/16646
I suggested in my flippant way could he find me another Bouzouki. He took me seriously and suggested I start my own thread. I thought about this but that would be a bit selfish of me but how about asking the mustard people” Could you match Ceol ?” What bargains associated with ITM are out there?
Suggestions of buying a shaky egg for £3 and a dozen for £2 will be ignored and I will ask Jeremy to delete them on the grounds of promoting world peace.
However if some one is thinking of selling a Cittern in the near future let me know
Hi. I'm new to the website and find it great! My search for a button box is new, though I'm not new to Irish music. I've found a button box locally but it is tuned c/f.... this is not common in the Irish tune world apparently, so my question is: Is it possible to retune the thing (it's new, not pre-owned) - how much should I expect to have to pay to get this done?
The other question I have is that I've been researching Hohners but know they are made in China. (I'd stop searching and go for it now but re-sale value down the road when I want to get something else is a concern.) Thoughts on this are welcome. But generally speaking, I would prefer something made in Europe/Italy or America. Any advice for me on manufacturers? I know I like both wet and dry tunings, but will look for dry for Irish tunes. It'd be great if the box is made of wood because I love wood. But this is going to be my first box so I'm flexible. Any thoughts and input is greatly appreciated!
Yes, easily to D/G, but best if done by someone with experience and a history... This would make a good 'new' discussion. There's a lot of knowledgeable folk on site here who will no doubt guide you right...
You have two questions and two discussion, both worthy of thought. So, go for it, add one now, add the other next week?

Re: Bargain Bargain
The tracks are licenced from Gael-Linn recordings marketed by a Dutch label. Just buy it, it's great.

Re: Bargain Bargain
Hmmmm? ~ £3 for one disc, and under a pound per disc for 10?
How about a bozouki for Baz? He needs a reasonable one in playability and price...
