hello
can't seem to manage chording to a simple tune like Bl. Velvet Band. Of course when I pull, I get the dominant, so should I not chord for the few passing notes, and just chord for longer periods on one chord or another?
Depends what keys your accordion is in, and what key you are playing the tune in. If it's a DG box I might be able to help, and thete are plenty of BC, C#D players here if it's one of those.
I am not sure what you are getting at. Bass playing is a real challenge.
It sounds like you are doing what folks call 'poker' bass. You hit the bass where it works with the direction you are playing in and don't play on the other notes.
IIf you work at it, you can get alternating basses as well as what is called regulator bass. John Williams has a DVD where he goes into bass technique. If you've never played bass before (usually as a PA player) you will spend alot of time on this. That's why many players just stay away from the basses.

You may need to find someone to teach you.

Re: chords on a two row button accordion
If you're keen to play chords there are better solutions than B/C tuning
