Red Robin - I have a copy of 'Al O'Donnell 2' in my collection. If that is the one you have in mind it was recorded in 1978 on Transatlantic LTRA501 and marketed by Logo Records 86 Marylebone High St, London W1. I'm afraid I wouldn't be interested in selling my copy, but if I can be of any further help let me know.
I've just been e-mailed a link by a friend of mine to a (unfinished) film called 'O'Donoghue's Opera'. He wants me to post it here, I think, because it has some footage of Al O'Donnell singing 'The Night Before Larry Was Stretched'. I'm dubious, because, having just watched the first 5 minutes of it, it is so embarassing. I suppose you have to remember that it was from a different era. But the sheer hatred exhibited in those first few minutes was, for me, hard to watch.
'Sfunny - a friend of mine (a Brit) was caught up in some so-called 'riots' in Dublin some time around the early to mid-70s and got caught up and swept along in a march/rally where people were chanting "Brits out! Brits out!" before several of them turned to my friend and said, with a grin "No Offence!" I've always thought that sums up the natural hospitality of the Irish people.
Different feel to the film 'O'Donoghue's Opera' ...
It was Johnny Moynihan singing The Night Larry was stretched in that fillum. The whole thing, reconstructed, was shown a few weeks a go on 'Come West along the Road'.
Ah ... sorry, kilfarboy - I was misled by a source who shall remain nameless and who has just chewed me out for not doing *exactly* as he asked me to ...
Al O Donnell

Re: Al O Donnell
Ask lordfranklin for a copy of the CD I sent him.
And inform possible sellers which country you live in.
