Well, I just ask, because a friend came round and said "I've got this tune in my head", and played it as well as he could on the guitar, ( he's not a tune merchant, more of a singer/songwriter ), and I tried to see if it was a recognisable tune on the jigs file, and could not find a soundfile on any jig whose name I recognised.
Are there any soundfiles on the jigs ? I've only done a short search so far, not even up to titles beginning with M on the 'Jigs in D' file, but not found one yet.
I will try to translate what we have into ABC, although I'm not fluent, and ask if anyone recognises it, later.
Huh. I'm getting the midi files, no problem. The newest submissions don't have them yet, but otherwise it looks OK.
Although I tried a search for "jigs in D major with titles that start with the letter M" and got Father O'Flynn at the top of the list... and lots of other hits that don't start with an M in the title... which makes no sense to me at all.
Guernsey Pete, I think you must have been searching while you weren't logged on. Once you're logged on you'll see the "Download" tab for every tune, jig or other.

Were you logged on and clicking on the "Download" tab of the tunes you were checking?
