Hey I was wondering if you could suggest what this tune I'm looking for could be. I've heard being called 'Sean Ryan's' but I can't find a tune entitled that that sounds anything like this. This tune is very different- I've only ever heard it played on the whistle, in A Major. It starts off with AB Csharp highE roll, and goes really high to high c sharp in the first part, and then goes lower for the start of the B part of the tune. Very nice tune. Any ideas (im no good at doing the ABC thing...)
Re: Help me out - a reel that goes to high C Sharp
Sorry, but the tune http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/177 (Sean Sa Ceo, in A-dorian) in fact only goes up to high C-nat, which many fiddlers can reach from the first position. However, I have a Matt Cunningham version of Gladstone's (in A-major) which really does go up to the high C-sharp. The beginning of the B-part reads ce | a2c'a g2bg |, and this sequence re-occurs 4 bars later. Most fiddlers would need to shift up to the 2nd or 3rd position to play this. I'll post the Matt Cunningham version on "Gladstone's" in the Tunes section.
Re: Help me out - a reel that goes to high C Sharp
The tune in question, Lazyhound, is often-times played with a C# in that last section- but you're right, that version doesn't do that. I missed that when I posted the reply.

Folks, look in the comments for that tune - there are two versions that have the (imho proper) C#.
